Make a Top Ten List on how to budget your allowance

Make a Top Ten List on how to budget your allowance

Here are some tips on how to budget :

1. Buy what you need not what you want.

Most people you see in the mall are the rich ones. Those are the people who can buy everything that they need, but if you're on a budget like me, it's better if every time you go to the mall you have limited money in your pocket so that  if in case you're tempted to buy something, you have no choice but to save because you don't have any cash available.

2. Apply the law of supply and demand.

With the salary i received every pay, I can say that it's very insufficient with my cost of living because i do have a lot of responsibilities. Like the tuition fee and allowance o my two high school siblings in the province, apartment rental fees, electricity, credit card, everyday fare and food. With all those things to think each month, wherein the supply is lesser than the demand. I don't have any choice than to save money.

3. Cook at home instead of eating out.

Before going anywhere, make sure you're full. This will prevent any cravings for food. And just a tip, always have sweets in your bag and guaranteed that it'll ease your craving to eat.

4. If the destination is near, exercise by walking.

This is a very good way to keep you fit and healthy. But make sure not at night especially if you're a girl, it'll be very dangerous for you.

5. Invest on DVDs instead of going to a movie house.

It's your choice if you'd like it original or fake :). It's still better and much affordable than taking someone in the movie house. This way, you may share it with your family and friends.

It's what I'm doing I'm investing on DVDs so when I'm old, like 60's, I'll be able to enjoy my late years.

6. Eat healthy yet affordable foods.

Of course it's one of the best way to save money because if you're healthy you wouldn't worry on being sick. Prevention is still better and more affordable than cure.

7. Write the things you need before going to a grocery.

This will keep you away from buying undesirable things. Because let's face it, most of us love eating. So tendency is that you'll buy unnecessary and undesirable foods while walking around the grocery.

8. Make your baon instead of having a lunch out

This applies to everyone morning or night shift. It's healthier and cheaper.

9. Make a list of your expenses so you may allot a certain amount for your everyday needs.

Everyday needs like fare going to work and going back home. Good thing I'm not smoking and that's a way to save money.

10. If possible save for emergency.

I know it's very hard to save money nowadays because of the increasing rate of a lot of things. But as much as possible try saving like at least P20 each day... at the end of the month it can still mean a lot.

Make a review of your favorite eating place? Include pictures if possible
>>>My favorite eating place is in pier one MOA, I don't know but for me, the place is cozy, affordable and good customer service!
These are the things i consider most in choosing the best place to eat.
I consider it cozy because eating inside or out, you'll surely have a good time. Inside, you'll hear their choice of music, from R&B to alternative.. It's simply very pleasing to anyone's ear.
Next thing I love about this place is that they offer delicious foods at a great price. Like the refillable ice tea is very reasonable, though they just offer it till 10pm. I also love their lechon sisig and onion rings. Such an irresistible servings they have! You'll surely forget about your diet once you visit Pier One!
For customers, we always wanted to be treated nicely for our own satisfaction. This place can surely give you that satisfaction you're looking for. They make sure that each tables has its own crew to assist you. And all of their crew members are friendly and approachable.
So when my family visit Manila, I plan to treat them in my favorite eating place... which is in Pier One.. I simply love it!

Beneath a Shady Hideaway

Whether its sadness, perplexity or sheer delight, the one place I  constantly visit and spill my deep emotions to is the shady spot under the large mango tree, planted at a secluded area within my school. On a cold stone bench is where I would sit, submitting my sentiments to the towering tree bespectacled by worm-eaten leaves and glittering sun rays.In this haven of solemnity, I find a place for intrapersonal reflection where time is set at a slow, gratifying pace.  Engulfing my senses with the cool breeze and gentle whistle of the leaves, I make myself vulnerable to nature, acting with repose and exchanging my anxieties with a refreshing escapade of relaxation.

A Promise of Stardom: Horikita Maki

When it comes to the acting versatility scale, or the jaw dropping cuteness factor, Horikita Maki definitely has my perfect, ten point hit mark; crowning her as first on my 'favorite female idols' list. Young, vibrant, and naturally appealing, this 19 year old actress from Japan has succeeded indeed in making stardom her birthright; blossoming her way alongside giants in the seemingly competitive Japanese entertainment industry. Unbiased by her superficial good looks, her acting skills are purely talent-based, having received awards for her superb performances in "Hana Kimi" and "Nobuta wo Produce," to name a few. With an increasing fan base and an atypical down-to-earth character, Horikita Maki is a definite constant attraction not only for me but also for the others who share in my sentiments.

Smart Shows on the Idiot Box

Of all the nicknames for the television to live up to, it had to be "idiot box". But watching too much TV doesn't have to cause one to lose too much IQ points. In an age where brainless is a new genre, there remain a handful of entertaining, but not necessarily idiotic shows, that are worth becoming a couch potato for. Here are the top five series with utterly brilliant plots that make me go from channel surfing to swimming in just one channel:

CSI

Watching the first few episodes made me say, "When I grow up, I wanna be a forensics specialist!" Unfortunately, it's too late for me now, being a college graduate and all, so I choose to live vicariously through Gil Grissom and his fellow crime scene investigators. Science geeks have never looked sexier.

How I Met Your Mother

This Carter Bays and Craig Thomas creation is sheer genius from the storyline to editing, all the elements come together to create a show that reflects real life. Loosely based Bays and Thomas's personal lives, the show is a refreshing sitcom that a lot of yuppies can relate to. Ted, Robin, Barney, Marshall and Lily are household guests I enjoy having around every once in a while.

The Office

Michael Scott is the kind of boss I'd either want to have (because work will be a breeze, in fact, I might not have to work at all!) or dread to work for (because you'll find yourself doing the silliest things like running a marathon for rabies or  making imaginary phone calls to avoid him). Either way, I'd take that cubicle at the corner just to be around the goof.

Pushing Daisies

Whimsical and romantic best describe Pushing Daisies. Who would ever think that a story about a pie maker and his formerly dead childhood sweetheart would make great tv? Bryan Fuller obviously thought so and I agree 100%!

House

Dr. Gregory House has the kind of brutal honesty we all wish we could have. Except he diagnoses patients with the all the deadliest diseases known and unknown to man kind; with that in his job description shouldn't he break the news to them gently? Gregory House doesn't think so and that's what makes him my kind of guy!

From watching these shows, the only kind of idiot you'll turn into is the one that gets drawn to the lives of the characters and forgets that it's all fiction.

Food from the (Greek) Gods

I'm a self-proclaimed adventure-eater. Being a Filipino, balut and other uncanny or domesticated animal or even insect doesn't seem exotic to anymore. After trying various foreign cuisines my palette tired of them and craved for something new... And then late last year a friend of mine introduced me to Cyma.

Souvlakia souvlaki, mezedes, orektika, midia achnista me krasi... Looking at the menu for the very first time, I could honestly say, "it's all Greek to me". Reading the menu aloud sounded like tongue twisters. But after getting a serving of all of the above,  my tongue wasn't at all twisted—it was pleased. My taste buds didn't just experience new flavors, it did a little dance, jumped up and down with glee and said "opa!"--a word the Greeks say while beaming with joy as they celebrate.

Cyma is a Greek restaurant, which has its roots in the shores of a very Filipino destination: Boracay. It soon branched out to Manila, giving us city-dwellers new dishes to enjoy and a new restaurant where eating in is tantamount to celebrating life.

If Zeus would order up a feast in Mount Olympus , he'd definitely get Cyma to cater! I'd suggest that he order his tables be filled with my favorites: Roka Salata, a salad that excites the senses with candied walnuts and shaved parmesan; Greek shish-kabobs made of lamb, chicken and beef; and Hirine Brizola, the chunkiest, juciest pork chops cut ¾ of an inch.

Visit www.cymarestaurants.com to get a glimpse of what you're missing out on. Or even better be an adventure eater yourself and trot off to Trinoma, Greenbelt 2 or Shangri-la Edsa and give yourself something to say "OPA!" over.
